💡 Thought of the Week

Last week, I asked Careblazers on Instagram:

“What’s the best advice you’d give a new caregiver?”

The responses were incredible — heartfelt, helpful, and real.

But one comment stuck with me, and I think it could save a lot of caregivers unnecessary stress:

“Suspend your healthy person expectations.”

She explained it so well.

As healthy people, we expect certain things — changing clothes daily, showering, eating balanced meals, exercising…

But for someone living with dementia, those expectations might not be realistic.

Trying to enforce them can often lead to more stress than success — for both of you.

Adjusting what you consider “normal” doesn’t mean you’re giving up.
It means you’re getting wiser about what really matters.

🧰 Careblazer Favorites: Easy Bidet Attachment

Let’s talk about a small bathroom upgrade that can make a big difference in daily care — especially when showers aren’t happening as often.

A bidet helps your loved one feel cleaner, reduces irritation, and cuts down on the mess.

Less wiping. Better hygiene. More dignity.

I’ve used one ever since visiting Japan last year — and I honestly love it.

This one is under $40, installs in 15 minutes, and doesn’t need a plumber., Check it out here (over 97,000 reviews!).
